Here are the latest product offerings for the composites marketplace. This week features items of all types; from resins to inspection devices to end applications, there’s room for everyone at our table.

New Latitudes Intrepid Railing, part of the spring 2010 lineup
Rather than go off the railing, Universal Consumer Products, maker of Latitudes composite decking and railing, has added. The new railing features a robust, symmetrical railing profile with a hidden fastener system. The concealed mounting hardware is designed for quick installation and provides a clean, seamless appearance. The line also features a pre-drilled insert rail to assure proper spacing and ease of assembly. This new railing is code-compliant without the use of special inserts for added reinforcement.
Composites One will be the one to introduce a new line of Formulated Epoxy Resin products to the U.S. market manufactured by SIKA Corporation. The product line will include epoxies for hand lamination, filament winding, and closed mold processes like infusion and RTM. It is designed for both emerging markets (wind energy, light aircraft, and defense) as well as other core composites markets (marine and underground construction).
Blinds Chalet wants you to see its new composite window shutters line. The windows are made from 100 percent American hardwood and durable thermal polymers, which the company says allows the shutters to retain their shape, color and resist chipping. Each plantation shutter is designed with a patented spring-loaded panel and a classic tilt bar with ‘no mouse holes.’ This allows each louver to close tighter and minimize any light gaps for added light control and privacy.
If you need a new integrated computed tomography (CT) workstation, Wenzel GmbH has the exact solution for you: exaCT. The new inspection machine allows the contactless 3D measurement of internal and external part surfaces allowing non-destructive and timesaving inspection of small and medium sized complex parts with small features manufactured from plastics, composites, ceramics, aluminum or magnesium. The company says the main benefit of using 3D CT for scanning or digitization is that a complete model with both external and internal surfaces of an object can be obtained without destroying the part.
